'Doing Culture' and 'Situating Culture'. Two successful series of interdisciplinary workshops held at the Universities of Manchester, Sheffield and Warwick, bringing together students, academics, artistic producers and commentators to explore cultural practices across the (post)-socialist space.

CEELBAS Postdoctoral Research - Ulrike Ziemer. Dr Ziemer's research project on identity among young Armenians in Russia and Bulgaria, linking in to the wider CEELBAS research  theme of Migration and Diasporic Citizenship.

CEELBAS Postdoctoral Research - Robert Pyrah. Dr Pyrah's project on cultural memory in interwar L'viv and in post-Soviet Ukraine, developing the CEELBAS research theme of Cultural Processes in Eastern Europe.
