In March 2009, CEELBAS Postdoctoral Research Fellow Dr Ulrike Ziemer invited Prof. Krystyna Iglicka to give a public seminar on ‘The Consequences of Post-Enlargement Migration: A Perspective from the Sending Country’ at SSEES, UCL.

In June 2009, Dr Ulrike Ziemer was invited by the Sociology Department, Yerevan State University, together with Dr Nona Shakhnazarian of Kuban State University (pictured below left), to give a public seminar on Armenian youth in Russia:

In September 2009, Dr Ulrike Ziemer organised the first CEELBAS Postgraduate Ethics Workshop. This workshop brought together academics and postgraduate research students and provided a valuable opportunity to exchange experience and ideas relating to ethics and research within the Russian and East European context: view report.
