CEELBAS Database of Expertise
Terms and Conditions
Eligibility
In order to be listed as an expert on the CEELBAS database, you must be one of the following: 1. A member of staff at one of the ten institutions that make up the CEELBAS network. These are: UCL, University of Oxford, University of Birmingham, University of Bath, University of Cambridge, University of Kent, University of Manchester, University of Sheffield, University of Warwick and the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London; 2. A CEELBAS doctoral studentship holder; 3. A member of academic staff employed by a university where a formal collaboration agreement is in place between the home institution and a CEELBAS university.
Experts must agree to provide true, accurate and current information about themselves on their profiles. If a profile is not updated for a period of one year an automatic reminder will be sent to the expert. If this profile is still not updated it may be removed from the database. If a profile is found to contain information that is untrue or inaccurate it will be removed from the database.
Data protection
The database is an online resource which is intended both to serve the purposes of knowledge exchange with the user community and to facilitate collaboration between academic specialists in the region. By submitting your details you give permission for CEELBAS to publish your information online for this purpose. Although you are asked to provide contact details, these will not be published on the database and will be viewable by database administrators only. CEELBAS will never give out contact details without the permission of the expert concerned.
Initial enquiries sent by users to CEELBAS experts via the database system may be monitored for statistical and administrative purposes. No specific information identifying individuals will be disclosed to any third party.

Although every effort is made to ensure the quality of entries, CEELBAS cannot accept responsibility for the accuracy or completeness of the information contained in the database. CEELBAS takes no responsibility for the consequences of error or for any loss or damage suffered by users of any of the information published on the database, and such information does not form any basis of a contract with readers or users of it.
Although all reasonable care has been taken to protect against unwanted enquiries, CEELBAS is unable to take responsibility for the content or provenance of emails sent to experts via the database. Should you experience any problems of this nature, please report these to ceelbas-experts@ssees.ucl.ac.uk.
