Inaugural conference: "Russia Under a New President: Opportunities and Challenges for NGOs in the Health Field"
Russia's new President, Dmitry Medvedev, with Putin as his Prime Minister, will inherit a booming economy but also many serious health and welfare problems. For NGOs working in the health field in Russia the situation presents both opportunities and challenges. This conference will be an opportunity to assess the current state of affairs, the prospects for health care reform, and how NGOs can best operate in these circumstances.
This new CEELBAS/BEARR programme is expected to involve a series of seminars and workshops bringing together academics and NGO workers with common interests for a fruitful exchange of information and ideas.
